Last week at home in Llano felt like a whirlwind! Our new publisher, Susan Stoltz of Rockin’ SR and the new web master, Deborah Kunzie (www.garlicdzign.com) arrived from Montana and Florida respectively to spend several days with us. They kept us on our toes with photo shoots, short videos for pod casts, discussing book(..)
Just Wondering About - Owning A Vehicle Most kids can’t wait to get their first set of wheels. Not me. I wanted nothing to do with driving or owning a car. Chock that up to fear. Who knows where the fear came from or why I had so much resistance to joining the ranks of those who lived life at an accelerated rate? Perhaps I inherited my mother’s phobia for driv(..)
What’s In A Name?
The conundrum, if I can even call it that, goes back to my birth at the Elsie Ingle Memorial Hospital in Edinburgh, Scotland. My parents had decided to name me Laurie Gail because my father had an aunt Lura and an aunt Lola. One of mother’s attending nurses however felt that Laurie (spelled Lorry in Scotland) was a horrible name for a very t(..)
On the Road to Eureka Springs
We left Llano early, the backseat of the truck filled with boxes of books, CDs, duffle bags, computer cases, hanging clothes, a guitar and an insulated snack pack containing bottles of water, apples, carrot and celery sticks, dark chocolate covered almonds, slices of Muenster cheese, whole wheat crackers, tortilla chips, roasted almonds and a couple of (..)

Now that my new web site is up and running and my new web master has suggested that I post various pieces of my writing, and also do a short blog. Though journaling is old hat to me, the notion of blogging is unexplored. I find it hard to think of things to say, though just concentrating on life here in Llano has many unusual subjects to investigate (like cockroaches, hungry mosquitoes(..)
What a unusual day! Despite the rooster's wake up call and the doves cooing, I couldn't get going. I spent an hour lying on my day sofa just staring out the window at the hundreds of pink blossoms on the Rose of Sharon bushes along the driveway. WC brought me herb tea to sip (Yes, I'm spoiled). Didn't feel bad or down, just very slow, like my engine wouldn't start. Kind of (..)
