The Abiding Presence

For several years I have been recording spiritual guidance that comes to me in the early hours of the morning before dawn.  This process has been unfolding in fits and starts, often coming through with great clarity and at other times appearing rough and disjointed, but I have found peace and balance during those times of connection and communication.  (A collection of these writings appear on the website www.infinitepossibilitiesjournal.com.)

On January 1st, 2010, I stated my intention for the new year to the Universe:  I will create time to spend in private retreat during which I will focus on my connection to the voice within, the abiding presence.

Here are the things I will say "no" to:  Talking (except to god), visitors (except my husband), television, telephone, computers, email and blogging, social interaction, travel, vehicles, cooking, cleaning, bookwork and laundry.

Here are the things I will say "yes" to:  Silence, stillness, resting, being, listening, writing, reading, walking, biking, yoga, working in the garden, eating light wholesome food, and drinking herb tea and water.

I have listed my proposed retreat dates on my calendar, however they are subject to change depending on situations and circumstances.  I intend to search for ways to live without personal rules and outside expectations that bring me stress and discontent.  I plan to discover opportunities to be more relaxed and fluid, more balanced and joyous.

If you are trying to reach me for any reason, please leave a message and be patient.  When I return to my cell phone and email, I will respond.

Dear Laurie,

Reserving time for spiritual retreat is a time-honored practice. With your combination of being sensitive to nature, spirit, and words it seems essential.

May these retreats go well and yield the peace and treasures they hold.
